Thinking about college?

It's the end of the year, and college is right around the corner, right? Okay, maybe it's a long four-year corner, but you've got to start thinking about how you're going to pay for it sooner or later. Might as well be sooner.

Check out my article on Pell Grants  called "Your Pal the Pell Grant" at collegepiggybank.org to start learning about the Pell Grant! Read it, and you'd better like it, too. Seriously: Click the Facebook "Like" button at the top of the article.

I got a Pell Grant to help me through my teaching credential--it's a sweet deal to start off your financial aid. If you thought you had to start off your college career crazy in debt, think again.

The school year is almost over for us and that is just great. No more teachers telling us what to do for awhile and staying up all day and night. I am glad that where going the high school soon and I am really not going to miss this school. I don't exactly know what I am going to do when it is summer but I really don't care. I am just going to enjoy it for as long as it last before we go to school again. So if anyone wants comment on what there going to do just comment on this post.

Stage 7- Amgen Tour de California

This past Saturday I went to go see Stage 7 of the Tour of California. The Tour of California is an 8 day stage race starting in Northern California making its way down hundreds of miles to Southern California. Stage 7 started in Claremont and made its way up to the treachorous Mt. Baldy Ski Lifts. At the start of the stage, there were 10,000 people jam packed in Claremont to watch the start. The riders then made their way up Mt. Baldy Road to the Mt. Baldy Village. When they reached the village, they made left onto Glendora Ridge Road cutting across into the East Fork and down into Azusa. As they headed down the decent, they made a left onto the famous Sierra Madre Blvd. After that long hard stretch, they made another left onto Glendora Mountain Road (GMR) and started the treterous climb of 23 miles averaging 10 % gradients up to the ski lifts. After GMR, they cut across the opposite way they came down on Glendora Ridge Road and headed up even higher to Mt. Baldy. The last 4 miles of the climb/ race was the switchbacks which averaged 18 % gradients. As they started the ascent of the switchbacks, a break away of 2 riders, which contained the top 2 best placed riders in the race, got away to the finish for the win. Both of the riders were also on the same team Radioshack. That day/ stage will go into the history books and will never be forgotten.

Introducing Indo vs. Irish!

I would like to introduce a new blog created by a fellow classmate, Irish, and me, Indo. We call it Indo vs. Irish. In this blog, we will discuss about many sports topics. Unlike most sport blogs, it will have two rival bloggers with opposite ideas and will argue about everything. So please visit Indo vs. Irish, and I hope you will like it.

Pumas Are The New Champions of Mexico!!!!

The Pumas are now Champions for el Clausura 2011. They beat Monarcas Morelia in a very intense game. The game started and there was two penalties in the first half of the game. I think both penalties where not even penalties. About 10 minutes to the end of the game Javier Cortes takes on five guys and makes the winning gol for the Pumas. With this Pumas became Champions again and now have seven championships.

Eastern Confernece Finals

When I looked at the series between the Heat and Bulls I see two teams that have all-star scorers, Lebron and Wade for the Heat and Rose and Boozer for the Bulls, and also a great defense to compliment the scorers. Going into the series I thought every game would go down to buzzer and who ever made the last shot would win the game. After Game 1, which the Bulls won by over ten, my friend,Irish, said the Heat were going to get swept. I said that was unreasonable and I was proved right when the Heat won Game 2. In Game 3 the Heat pulled out a close one thanks to Lebron being clutch and scoring most of their final points. The Heat are up 2-1 and there is a game tonight at 5:30 where the Heat try to go up 3-1.

Social Media

Everywhere social media ruins peoples lives. Even famous athletes are getting made fun of just because of what they post on twitter which is just ridiculous. Pro athlete Reggie Bush is a victim of social media just for saying that it is good to be not on training because of the lock-out. Just for that people are getting mad. There is no reason to get mad just on one thing. I don't think that laying back and resting at home is something bad when you have to practice in about 100 degree weather with humidity every day. There is no possible reason to get mad at this at all. The social media is going to far now.

Social Media

Social Media is a bunch of idiots trying to ruin peoples life's.I believe they are bullying people with there knowledge. These Social Idiots should get a life and find a real job that does not hurt people. One case is Reggie Bush.He said that he is enjoying his time because of the lockout.Whats wrong with this?I would much rather enjoy all that money he has than work out in lot of humidity in Florida. The media always has to give their two cents.Eventually the media always goes to far though. These people have a life and you don't.Stop acting like idiots and do your job,sit on your behind with a computer an coffee.

Social Media Ruining Peoples Lives

I feel that you need to not post anything that's plain stupidity and that you'll regret. These ideas will ruin your social media life. You can use it for good if your doing school work on the Internet. For example, a class blog can be used for good because it's school related. I think we can avoid pulling a bad number is by thinking of how your audience is going to react before posting. Or would I would do is just not post anything at all where the whole world can see. This is how Social Media can ruin peoples lives.

Social Media Disasters

Lately many famous or just common people have been using the media in way that most people would not think the media would be used for. Reggie Bush, a NFL player, recently commented on Twitter that he was glad that the lockout happened because he was not forced to practice in the 108 degree heat. I personally think that if he is a NFL than he should not go around saying things that he just might very well know that it would anger many people. This one of many examples of how people abuse the power of social media. I think the solution is short and simple, only use the media for important things. You should not put things on the web and not expect some people to get mad at you. The media is helpful because it tells us thing thaty we need to know because they effected our lives in some way or another.

How Not to Have a Social Media Disaster

In response to English Answer Man's post, I believe there is one thing that prevents you from pulling a "Jessi Slaughter". There is a thin line between respect and disrespect, and the ones who have had the social media destroy themselves have crossed the line. For example, Jessi Slaughter got caught in her mess because she insulted many people. Also, Dwight Howard got into his trouble because he doubted a newspaper's intellect. Meanwhile, many people, whether famous or common, use Facebook and Twitter, and still respect others while never getting in trouble. This emphasizes the point mentioned on English Answer Man's post: what goes around comes around.

Dress Code

There has recently been some debate about dress code. There is many questions that still need to be answered. One question is the debate over teachers and how they dress.I believe that a teacher should dress in a respectful manor. It looks very unprofessional if you just throw on some cloths.I believe that teachers should have an even stricter code then students.Looking unprofessional can lead to bad impressions and loss of job.Mr.V shows a perfect example of teacher dress code when he arrives at school everyday.Sure teachers can wear whatever they want in there free life but keep it professional at school.Teacher watch what you were.

Teacher dress code

I decided to respond to post on Englishanswerman talking about if teachers should have a dress code or not. In my opinion I think they should have a dress code if we students have one. Its only fair for them to have one if we do. This is my honest opinion for this blog from Englishanswerman blog site.

East and West Conference Semi-finals

We have finally advanced to the second round of the NBA Playoffs. The biggest news so far is the Memphis Grizzlies, who were in 8th place, upsetting the top-spot Spurs. Now they play Durantula and the thunder. The Lakers escaped slimintion after that shocking game 1 against New Orleans. They play tonight against Dallas. The biggest games for the next 2 weeks is the highly anticipated Heat-Celtics Match-up. I'm going to hear a lot from certain Patrick. Other than that, I'm just going to relax and enjoy the show.

Dress Code For Teachers

My Teacher has a post on teachers having dress code that I'm going to talk about today. I think that teachers should also have there own dress code. Them having their own dress code makes it even for all us in the school campus. There is this _______ Teacher that gives dress codes to students all the time to kids. I mean thats o.k if she does give dress codes but whats dumb about it she wears inappropriate clothes as well. Nobody ever tells her anything about it. I think what schools need is a dress code for everyone in the campus.

Dana Point Grand Prix

This past weekend I raced in the city of Dana Point. Now normally I race the junior category 13- 14. But this prestigious race didn't have that category; so I raced in the men's category 4 race. We had a full field of 150 riders. The course was a fast, technical 1 mile course with 6 turns and a couple of inclines. We started at 9:30 and we were racing for 40 minutes. My first goal of the day was to start at the first row, which I did. We started really quickly. Through out the whole race I maintained my position in the top 15 spots to stay out of any trouble like crashing. I also wanted to stay in those positions so at the final sprint I could be right in the front. With 3 laps to go I was in position, and then there was a nasty crash at the first turn. A police motorcycle came and stopped right in front of the rider. The next time we came around, the motorcycle was still there at the first turn. As we were making the turn I was on the inside and was not paying attention at all to the motorcycle and I had no idea the motorcycle until after when one of my team mates told me. So as we turned a rider wasn't paying attention and hit the motorcycle while his bike flew 20 feet into the air. As we kept riding, we made it to 1 lap to go safely. I was positioned in the top 20 positions. When we made it to the final chicane, I was right in position to get a top 20. We got on to the final sprint stretch and I tryed to sprint as hard as I can to maintain a top 20 finish. At the end when results were posted, I finished safely in the top 20 spots out of the full field of 150 riders.

Dress Code

I am responding to a post on a blog called englishanswerman that talks about if teachers should have a dress code. I personally think they should because if they expect the children at school to wear a certain kind of clothes then they should practice what they preach and follow a dress code designed for them. Some people say that they are professionals and they should not be told what to wear. I think if they believe they are professionals then they should dress accordingly to what they believe they are, professionals. They should not be wearing casual sweats and a pajama t-shirt. If you are a professional then you should wear nice pants, a nice shirt, and a tie(if you are a man). If you are a woman then you should wear a nice shirt and a skirt(maybe jeans sometimes) or a dress. Now if you have something to say about this a would love to hear it so just type a comment and I will try to get back to you.

Dress Codes for Teachers

What do I think about teachers being dress coded? I really don't care. As a student, I have never been dress coded, so I have no feeling of revenge like some other people. Instead, I think that if the teacher does not affect the "learning process" by disturbing the students with his/her clothes, then I really don't care what you wear. That's my opinion.
