Speak Entry 7- David tells Melinda something she may not want to hear. What should his words mean to her?

David tells Melinda that "people have to speak up for their rights." He was referring to the suffragettes. His words should mean to her that she needs to start speaking up to people about how she feels. He said to her that he thought it was unfair that she got stuck in MISS. But he also to told her that she needs to start speaking up for herself to make a difference for herself. When he referred to the suffragettes, he meant that if the women didn't speak up, they wouldn't have been able to vote. The women fought for their rights. They couldn't get their rights if they were silent. He said it would like letting the bad guys win. This is what David's words meant to Melinda.
