Lakers vs Hornets

The Lakers first playoff team is the New Orlean Hornets. The first game they played was in the Staples Center. The hornets won the first game but the Lakers came back strong and beat the Hornets the next two games. then hornets beat the Lakers once again and they tied the seies 2-2. The Lakers played last night and beat hem by almost 20 points. In the first quarter the lakers were down like two, three points. In the Second quarter the Lakers have been loosing still but at the end the lakers came back and left to half time with three points. In the third quarter it was the same but at bthe end it was good and they got to win by 16 points. thanks to all the turnovers the Hornets had. After this game we go 3-2 in the series and we head to New Orleans.

Usefullness

Today I will instruct you to make a very enjoyable/good post. I think the most important thing to do in a blog is to have correct grammar and spelling. The blog you post can never be torn down from the internet. This means that everyone everywhere can see the blog so you want to make yourself look good. You do not want to be spelling every other word wrong or not use any periods. People will think you are an illiterate 45 year old. After that, another hint that makes your post more interesting is to put a link. For example if you are writing about a restaurant or store you could put a hyperlink to their web site so everyone can see what you are talking about. People will have a greater chance of understanding and agreeing with you if you put a hyperlink in your post. If u do not know how to hyperlink this is how you do it.

UEFA Champions League

On Tuesday and Wednesday, there will be 2 epic semifinal games for the Champions League in soccer. My favorite team Manchester United will host Manuel Neuer's Cinderella team Mercurial Schalke, who have defeated Inter Milan. Then, the day after, we relive El Clasico, the bitter rivalry between Real Madrid and Barcelona. What a match! I'm hoping for Man U to beat Real in the final game, but it's too early to tell. Still, that won't stop me from watching it all.

Devil's Punchbowl Road Race

Yesterday the Southern California Velo juniors and myself raced the Devil's Punchbowl Road Race. When we started at 1:
15 the winds were really kicking up. We started neutral for about a mile until the first left turn. When we made it to the turn, some made the mistake of going right. Everyone finally went left and when down a short little bump. When we started the first false flat, the first attack went. I told our team to let him stay to let him cook out on the front. We eventually caught him earlier than expected because he sat up. The pace to the feed zone felt really unusual. We then made a right to the step climb with crosswinds.....it was tough!! When we started the steps, me and 2 other riders found ourselves in breakaway because of the pace that we were putting on the field. We then started the decent and then a quick right turn at the bottom. One of my breakaway companions almost slipped out at the turn because of the gravel. We got into a rhythm, then I heard someone calling my name. It was Annan. So I told the riders that were in the break to wait for him so we can have more help to get farther away. He latched on for a little bit but then couldn't hang on to the pace being put on. I kept telling him he has to try and hang on and that he can do it, but he just couldn't. We made it to the last turn, which was also a really bad turn. We kept rotating until we reached the line of cars. We all wanted to be in the back but we just couldn't. So the other 2 went way too early; I don't know what they were thinking but I knew I had to wait on my sprint because of a major headwind. I sat on their wheels until I felt I was ready to go. When I went, I had to go on the right side because if I went on the left I would've crossed the yellow line. I had plenty of room on the right to pass. As I was passing the two riders in our break, one of them started to sprint with me and then started bumping elbows with me. He started loosing control but I may have held him up because he was leaning on me. I held my line and kept my bike in control. I kept sprinting and took the win with my hands raised in the air. A special thanks to our team manager Dominic Galenti for a great bike fit the day before. And thank you to the Southern California Junior cycling team for all your support.

Right now i know our class is reading the "Outsiders" by S.E. Hinton. I think this book is really good and I would really like to know if you like this book or not. That is it for now.

Copa Del Rey

Yesterday the rivalry played. Real Madrid vs Barcelona. Real Madrid won 1-0 against Barcelona. It was o-o and they went to extra time. Cristiano Ronaldo made un Golazo. he headed it in from the centro from Di Maria and it was awsome. With that goal they won. the last time they won was in 1993. It was a great game at the end.

Welcome, Foreigners!

It's kind of funny what people look at on the Internet. Since I'm one of the moderators of this blog, I know everything about it. For example, I can look up the stats on our blog. This includes all the people from foreign countries that have seen our blog. Just in the last week, there have been 4 page views from Malaysia and even a guy from Denmark looked at this site. Since we started in the beginning of the school year people from Malaysia, Denmark, France, Britain, Russia, and Germany. There's even a guy from Australia who saw this! So, to that Aussie from down under, g'day mate, and welcome to our radical blog we call Drink the Kool-Aid ( this welcome is for all foreigners).

Pepper spray

I was recently looking at a website called detentionslip.org. I found an article that said a child was sprayed with pepper spray. Then I thought to myself, wow, that kid must have gone insane for the school to call the police and for them to pepper spray him. Then I read the short 3 sentence article to figure out he just went insane and out of control. What I read was that he had a tantrum and started pulling out pieces of wood. Then, I thought, holy crap that kid is either mega strong or they have really bad constructors. Now do I think he should have been pepper sprayed, personally no, but I might be a little biased because of my age. I personally believe that there could have been a more civilized approached to this chaos. For example, get him isolated and call his parents to help calm him down. Thank you for listening hope you come back.

Pie Day

Today was pie day meaning some teachers got pied in the face. They were pied in the face because their team didn't collect enough money or the penny war. The penny war was a war with teachers to try and raise money in pennies for victims in Japan. The losers were Mr. R, Mrs. V, Mr. C, and Mrs. C. Mr. C was first to get pied, then Mrs. V, then Mr. R, and then Mrs. C. They all got hit pretty hard except Mrs. C. I felt she should've gotten pied harder. She barely got pied; There was only a couple of bits of pie. This was pie day after the penny war.

Outsiders Journal #7

Yes, I do believe that everyone has a chance to control their own destiny. This does not mean that I think that no one has obstacles in order to get there. I understand that some people have to face things in order to get to their dreams. Now in some cases people can not control their own destiny. For example, if you are in a wheelchair because you are paralyzed from the waist down you can not just stand you and start sprinting. That is just not humanly possible. Now in most case, like wanting to get into a good college, you can control that by working hard and getting good grades.

Speak Entry 8- How can Melinda's life be compared to the pruning of the tree?

Her father explains to a little kid that the arborists cut off the disease and damage of the tree so it will make it possible for the tree to grow again. The pruning of this tree compares to Melinda's life because she needs to get rid of all the bad in her life. Once she gets rid of the bad, the good in her life will start to grow back on her life. Melinda's life right now isn't how she wants it to be; it's like the disease and damage on the tree. She wants it to be good and not like the disease on the tree. She wants her life to grow again like the tree did . This is how the pruning of the tree compares to Melinda's life.

Speak Entry 7- David tells Melinda something she may not want to hear. What should his words mean to her?

David tells Melinda that "people have to speak up for their rights." He was referring to the suffragettes. His words should mean to her that she needs to start speaking up to people about how she feels. He said to her that he thought it was unfair that she got stuck in MISS. But he also to told her that she needs to start speaking up for herself to make a difference for herself. When he referred to the suffragettes, he meant that if the women didn't speak up, they wouldn't have been able to vote. The women fought for their rights. They couldn't get their rights if they were silent. He said it would like letting the bad guys win. This is what David's words meant to Melinda.

Speak Entry 6- Mr. Freeman's Words of Wisdom

One of Mr. Freeman's words of wisdom is "You must walk alone to find your soul." I think this saying is true because sometimes you need to go your own way by yourself to find what you really want. From personal experience, I sometimes ride to my bike to different areas to see if the area is a good place for training. I also think it's false because you sometimes can't go your own way to find your soul. I feel this way because you need lots of real life experience to find your soul. I also don't fully agree with this statement because you also sometimes need a group/other people to find your soul. You can't always do it all by yourself; you need help too. This is why I think it's true and false.

Speak Entry 5- Why is it that people sometimes "like us" more when they can get something out of us?

People sometimes like us more because they like to take advantage. They take advantage because they are probably either free- loaders or they just get into a habit of taking advantage of people. I don't really understand what it means when it says "when they can get more out of us," but my guess is that they take advantage. People might also do that because they might want to take advantage of becoming popular in a certain. In the book Speak, I don't think the Marthas are being good friends to Heather. I don't think they are because they are taking advantage of Heather. Since Heather got a job as a model, they are taking advantage of her because it's good for her to stay in the group and the Marthas are gaining popularity. This is why people sometimes take advantage of other people.

Speak Entry 4- Why is Melinda relieved and sad not to go trick or treating?

I think Melinda is relieved that she doesn't go because she doesn't have to tell her parents that nobody asked her to go with them. She wouldn't want to tell her mom and dad that she has no friends other than Heather. To make it seem like she was a little mad, she stomped up to her room and shut the door. Her friend Heather didn't go trick or treating with her because Heather went with little kids so the moms can get a break. I think she's sad because know one invited her to anything. Her ex- friend, Rachel, was invited to a party but Melinda wasn't due to her reputation. I would feel very sad to leave my childhood traditions behind because I would feel like I'm getting older and I'm starting to change. This is why I think Melinda was relieved and sad that she didn't go trick or treating.

Manchester United F.C.

There are many teams out there that I like: Angels, Heat, Packers and USC to name a few. But there is only one team out there that I truly support: Manchester United F.C. Yes, this English soccer club is by far the my favorite team. Why? Because of the legacy behind it.

Formed in 1878, this team started as an average team and later became a under average team. That was until manager Alex Ferguson came in 1986, and since then has added to collection of achievements of Manchester, including 18 League Titles, 11 FA Cups, 4 League Cups, 3 European Cups, and 1 FIFA Club World Cup. They have owned many legendary players of the past(George Best, Bobby Charlton, David Beckham) and present( Chistiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs). This is just some of the many accomplishments United can boast about. Yes this one of the greatest teams ever, which is why it's also my favorite.

Speak Entry 3- Are people sometimes different on the outside than on the inside?

I believe yes that people are different on the outside than the inside. Sometimes people don't like to show there inside because it might be bad or it might be good enough where it's embarrassing. I think Melinda fits this description because on the outside she's quiet and shy. On the inside she talks about all the people that hate her and the people she hates in a bad way. Melinda gives her teachers really bad names they don't know about because she doesn't talk in person. It's true about people because they are afraid to bring out the other side of them. This is why people are different on the outside than on the inside.
